Lounge Bar

Bobby KnightA significant part of the Dunvegan's personality can be experienced in our friendly Golfer's Corner Lounge Bar, which generates a great golfing atmosphere.

Described by the Golf Channel as "one of the best hangouts in the world of golf" and deemed the perfect 19th hole by Sam Torrence, the bar has developed into a true 19th hole and is not to be missed.

The lower walls of the bar are decorated with over 150 prints chronologising the Open Championship being played on the Old Course since 1873 (the first 12 Opens were played on Old Prestwick) capturing all the winners and various historically significant scenes of that time period.

LorenaThe upper walls are laced with famous golfers that have visited the hotel during our time, which includes over 20 major champions as well as winners of over 100 professional tournaments during modern times. Not to be discounted, the outlaying walls of the hotel are laced with celebrities from sport and film that have visited us, (including the first man on the moon) as well as and perhaps most importantly hundreds of photos of our "not so famous customers" that we have had the pleasure of hosting at the Dunvegan during their pilgrimage to St Andrews.

The bar offers a fine selection of beers, ales, and spirits as well as over 50 malt whiskies. In addition, good freshly prepared homemade meals are served (known as bar meals), using fresh local produce, which includes a variety of sandwiches, burgers, ever popular fresh today fish 'n' chips and steak pie just to give you a taster. We also serve bar snacks such as nachos, chicken wings etc.

In addition the bar offers 5 flat screen TVs where sports (especially golf) are regularly shown and no seat is far away from the "telly".
